What type of stereo should i buy?
Ok I’m pretty much about to blow $1200 on a syatem for my 02 Ford Explorer. I need help on a stereo. I’d like an all Alpine system. I have 2 Alpine Type R 12″ Subs 4 Alpine door speakers(2-60 Watts). An Alpine MRP-M1000 amp that puts out 1000 Watts. And now i need to pick out a deck. What should i look for? What is the difference in 18W RMS and 20, 22W RMS?
if you have all Alpine so far, I’d stick with them for the headunit (HU). pick 1 that puts out 4 volts, and has 3 pair RCA’s, and you should be good. the diff. in power at that level isn’t much. that’s like cheap home stereo levels, even though that’s standard power in most HU’s. if you want loud highs, best bet is to purchase an amp for the highs/mids.
