Bottle Bite
Which bottle is good for a 6 months old?

My daughter is soon going to be 6 months old. She has been breastfed. I want to start giving her bottle as soon as she turns 6 months old. WHich bottle is good for a 6 month old and what flow? I do give her Avent bottle for drinking water but she doesnt suck on it. She is always trying to bite its nipple and considers it more as a toy. I think its going to be hard to transition her on a bottle. Any tips?

For those who are going to tell me that I should continue breastfeeding and I am doing wrong, let me tell you that I have no intention to give up on breastfeeding. I am doing it just for convenience because sometimes its so difficult to feed her when we are going out. She is so active and wouldn’t sit on breast.

My favorite bottles are the playtex ventaire bottles. They come in two different shapes. You can buy the normal shape, or you can buy the wider ones that come with special nipples that are meant to be similar to a breast. Both types are angled for a semi-upright feeding position and they are designed so that all airbubbles stay to the top while feeding. With these bottles, I had the least problems with gas and spitting up. I loved them. And they are very affordable too!
And might I add, no matter which kind of bottle you decide to use, it will be a difficult transition for your baby. But with some determination and compassion, your baby will do fine. Just keep at it and she will get the hang of it. Good Luck!
