Why does the media and Hollywood show concern for the genocide in Darfur, but shrugs at North Korea?
After seeing a show on PBS or somewhere about a South Korean reporter who went in under cover in North Korea, got caught, spent time in their concentration camps, then escaped and reported (with video proof) how horrific the conditions were — exactly like and in some cases worse than Auschwitz ever was — I’ve always found it troubling that the world doesn’t seem to be the least bit interested.
And they’re documented to be killing women and children and even doing experiments on them, just like the horrors of Nazi Germany!
Why doesn’t anyone seem to care? Darfur is in a war zone, and it’s absolutely sad about what’s happening there. But old Soviet styled prison camps still in operation today in North Korea, and the world just shrugs it’s shoulder?
Is this what we’ve become as world citizens?
