Well when i backpack, bring lots of pasta. Its an easy meal to prepare and gives you much energy with necessary carbs. Variations are mac and cheese, you can get powdered alfredo/pesto etc. Protien is necessary! Get summer sausage that doesnt need to be refrigerated. Even if it does, it can last a few days and be perfectly fine. Ramen extreme is always amazing when camping. Take ramen, and put it in a bowl with some powdered mashed potatoes and cheese. Pour the hot water over and let it sit till the noodles are coocked. Doesnt sound o appetizing now, but in the backcountry, it was the best meal i ever ate. You can make “backcountry thanksgiving”. Mix powdered mashed potatoes, uncooked stuffing, powdered gravy and canned turkey. Pour hot water and let sit for a few minutes. These are always better than they sound in the backcountry. Just make sure you bring some veggies and you can add them to any pasta dish. But pasta dishes are always an easy, quick, and delicious meal. Hope this helps!
