Simple Recipies?
So I have a small coking set that is normally used for camping as my only set of cookware. It contains a small pot and a samll frying pan. Can anyone give me very simple recipies for uch items that I can make.
I only get to cook for lunch as I only have a microwave in my place. I am in the Army and thats all we are allowed to have in our apartments. So really it would beIMpractical to but alot of other cookware.
Hi there,
There are several things you can do, ask a clerk at the grocery store to help you find these items. Don’t be shy, the clerks are there to help us:
Canned soups such as Campbells, read the instructions on the containers;
Canned stews;
Canned vegetables;
Canned tuna kits that come complete with every thing you need such as mayo and relish;
Boxed and round small containers of breakfast foods /lunches/dinners that you just pour hot water into;
Boxed mac & cheese;
No cook breakfast bars of all types…come in a box of several bars. We like Fiber One.
Drink lots and lots of water to stay healthy.
Do you have a fridg for keeping foods cold? If not, try to get an insulated camping box and put a bag of ice in it for storing hot dogs and hamburger patties. Eat them as soon as possible so they will not go bad. Canned baked beans and a canned vegetable will make a good meal. Don’t open the ice bag and it will stay cold longer. Keep the box clean at all times inside and out. Buy fresh ice often.
You can buy sliced ham/beef/chicken/turkey in plastic containers for sandwiches. We like the Hillshire Farms and Oscar Meyer brands, but there are many other good brands on the market. You will find the containers in the lunch meat section. Needs to be kept cold. Canned baked beans and a canned vegetable will make a nice meal.
Pre-cooked meats such as pot roasts, ham, pork chops, chicken and more can be found in the fridge section at the grocery store. Ask a clerk to help you find these.
Canned potatoes or sweet potatoes, canned beans of any type, canned vegetable will make a good meal.
Try to eat fresh tomatoes, fruits and vegetables whenever possible.
Canned whole tomatoes are good for you too.
Baked beans do not have to be hot, they are good when cold too.

When you have the money, try to buy a microwave. We found a small one on sell for $59.00 one time.
You can cook lots of foods in a large electric skillet. Buy one with tall sides.
Always unplug!!!
Recipe booklets come with both. These can be bought at places such as WalMart.
You can find lots of recipes on the internet.
