YMCA SUMMER CAMP QUESTION?

I have a group interview on saturday and I need to come up with an Arts and Craft and was looking for some suggestions.
I was thinking that having the kids make a car to hold an egg and race it down a ramp and try to keep the egg from breaking. What do you think?
And if anybody has done this group interview thing before do you just tell them your idea or are you suppose to make it?

No great challenge to prevent an egg from breaking on a car simply rolling down a smooth track.

The real trick would be to design the project so that the car would have to make some kind of jump over a break in the track.

I doubt you’d be given the opportunity to take the time to set up and demonstrate your craft idea. But be prepared to discuss it, including the challenges offered, what it is supposed to teach the campers, and, the materials required to complet the projects. If you could research the cost of materials as part of your presentation, it will go that much better for your pitch. What you want to give the interviewers is a well thought out project, not a set of problems for THEM to solve.

Also, have in mind other projects. I doubt the Y would be interested in setting up a crafts program with only a single project. Mentally prepare for some more innovative and traditional camp craft projects like leaf collecting, flower pressing, drawing and painting projects, etc.
