Are there any MCSE boot camps for beginners?

I am studying to get my MCSE and I want to do a boot camp. I see these 7,14, 21 day bootcamps but they seem to be geared toward IT professionals who have a lot of IT experiance.

I know the fundamentals (topologies, OSI model, Directory infrastructures and a few more things)of the MCSE tract and have read a few study guides on the core stuff but I want to move along faster.

I don’t have the vast knowledge to benifit from one of those quick boot camps but I am trying to see if there is a boot camp out there longer than 21 days that I can benifit from.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

NONE are good for beginners. At best, they help you pass the exams by pure memorization brain dumps. The certainly do not prepare you to actually touch a server. The derisive term is “paper MCSE” and that would apply to you.

If you want to move along faster, then find a M$ partner who’d be willing to take you under their wing. Bonus points of you can borrow Server 2003 etc and build your own server. I learned more about computers by building, screwing up and then fixing servers than in any class.

For grins, and to get much better on pure computer theory, put together a Linux server. Bonus points if you can get it to talk to your AD forest / domain / tree via LDAP.

You will want to study for a Cisco CCNA as well. That will build on your OSI knowledge, and will be very handy in a corporate setting. If I were you, I’d cram for that exam. Bonus points if you buy a Cisco router on Ebay and actually configure it.
