Anyone have a GPS for a dog?
Was watching tv show that recommended getting a GPS for dogs. We presently have a chip in our golden retriever. he is 1 years old and basically when we let him out he is on a long rope to do his business. but he has a lot of strength and has broken the rope couple of times when he sees something and lunges. we have no fence yard.
we also go camping on the weekends in a campsite. our previous golden who died at age 12 had sneaked away a couple of times and it took us a couple of hours to scour our neighborhood to find him.
you always worry that with goldens which are very friendly could be stolen or taken.
the website i found stated not available at this time. so wondering if anyone has purchased and their results. the GPS is spotlight.
what are the costs and do you feel it was worth it? is there other suggestions or ideas also?

I don’t think they have GPS for dogs, but I do know they have tracking devices for dogs. A lot of coon hunters use these on their hunting dogs. It actually a collar with a beacon on it, and you use a transmitter to locate your dog. You can buy them at your local hunting store or online. Ebay may be a good start.
