drinking the water on Dartmoor?
I’m planning my first trip to dartmoor and will probably go the two moors way as that seems to sound best for beginners. I want to go for a week but won’t be able to carry enough water for that time, and not sure about drinking the water. Have read not to take from daownstream in case of dead animals upstream. But does that mean you have to walk right to the start of the river to drink? I’m on a tight budget so don’t want to be buying water filters this time, apart from boiling and tablets how safe is it to drink untreated and what’s the worse that could happen?
Any other info at all for wild camping and trekking there would be good. Also, I’m a single female, so a lttle nervous about it, aside from environmental conditions, how safe is it, in terms of random lurking strangers etc :p
