where are some cool places to go camping in a boyscout troop of about 6 or 7 boys?

List some places for winter and summer please.
we want to go somewhere that a big troop of about twenty boys couldn’t go.
What are some activities we could do while we are camping?
what are some cool activities we could do when we meet once a week?(capture the flag, food fight, taco eating contest, etc…) fun things to do

Rocky Mountain National Park back country could be a good goal. When I did it the max number of people for most of the sites was 7 people. It is in Colorado so drivable from many places in the US. The trail system is really good.

The Adirondacks of New York is another great destination. The bugs can be a problem in the summer. I went around easter once when the spring was trying to break winter’s hold in the back country. That was a marvelous time of year to be there. The bugs were gone. You should take snowshoes and stay in the shelters around the lakes. You can take day trips from there up some of the mountains. There was hardly anyone out there when I went.

The smokies are a great place to go. I did a high adventure camp out of camp Davy Crockett that had us on 31 miles of the AT and then we met up with a rafting company to run the Nolichucky. That was a great time.

There are many more destinations out there. (Still many I would like to see myself.)

I recommend that the time spent in meetings be focused primarily on some type of long term goal. The one game per meeting isn’t a bad thing to build teamwork and such, but if you aren’t focusing on the larger goals that you set for yourself in scouting then it just becomes any other social program with a different name.

Aim far, train fun, play hard. Good luck to you.
