Galveston Island State Park?
How safe is this park, I have a female friend who will be camping there for a few weeks alone. Can you give me any info that about the park that I can pass on to her.
I have camped in that state park. I don’t think I’d recommend it. I didn’t see any homeless down there (there is park ranger patrol) but some people do like to party down there (especially during Spring Break) way past 10PM quiet time. Last time we were there two of the campsites were overrun with college age kids who just got out of control and finally left at 3AM fighting with each other. They’d quiet down when the ranger truck drove by and start right back up. It got old.
Just to be on the safe side, I wouldn’t do it if I were a female.
There are campsites near the beach, and away from it (screen shelters are a mile away across the highway). They have hookups for electricity and water at most sites.
GALVESTON ISLAND STATE PARK
