Southern California campsites…?
I’m looking for a (preferably free) camping site or area near Julian, ca, or Palomar mountain. Particularly, i want as much privacy as possible, and to be really immersed in the rustic feel. No rv parks or anything.
What your looking for is called dispersed camping, any area within the national forest that is open you can camp on as long as you are 100ft away from water, roads and existing campgrounds. There are some nice areas around Palomar mt. out of the state park. Along the palomar divide road where it crosses french creek is a nice area. Best in turkey season.
