Have hicks gotten worse over the years?
I was going from Mendocino California on the coast to Sacremento and I stopped to get some water at this supermarket in a some backwater town. The man in front of me had 3 24-packs of cheap beer and was accompanied by his young son. The cashier asked him if he was going camping. He was. My question is, has it always been this bad in redneck country?
Probably. People used to be ashamed of being hicks or whatever you want to call it, but now they wear it like a badge…. Mostly its just media stereo types though.
