anyone one have a good outside brownie recipe?
everything I find is for campers. I want one for an outside camping stove. That uses a cast iron frying pan.
Dutch ovens work the same as cast-iron cookware. Hope you like this recipe…………..
Mix and Dump Brownies
Ingredients:
2-1/4 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
3/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup milk
1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup cocoa
2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 tsp. salt
——————————————————————————–
Directions:
Combine all ingredients, stir until well blended. Pour into 12″ Dutch oven either greased and floured or lined with parchment paper. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350°. For 12-15 minutes, bake with top and bottom heat (15 top briquets, 9 bottom briquets). Remove from bottom heat, finish baking with top heat. Set aside to cool. Remove lid to prevent moisture from forming. Invert to remove (a pizza plate works good for this).
Here are some tasty variations:
Melt a layer of marshmallows on top prior to removing from heat. Uncover and allow to cool. Frost with icing of your choice or drizzle with melted butterscotch.
Melt mint flavored chocolate on top. Drizzle with melted chocolate.
These brownies are great served with ice cream too. Add your favorite toppings (whipped cream, nuts, hot fudge or candy sprinkles).

Skillet Brownies
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. double action baking powder
1/2 cup Hershey cocoa
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. Just Whites
2/3 cup oil
2/3 cup water
1 cup nuts, chopped
Throw everything but the nuts into a bowl and mix well. Stirring with a spoon works fine. Add the nuts.
Grease a 12 inch cast iron skillet. Put the mixture in the skillet. Cover and cook at medium low heat for about 20-30 minutes. Stick a toothpick in and when it comes out clean, the brownies are done. They may burn a little to get the top done. Just cut off the burned part. This one really works better in an oven if possible (350 degrees).
Makes about 1 1/2 dozen.
***adjust for the outdoor cooker.
