The mind creates its worst fears
In my stay in the country, a night camping in the desert, the mountains of Idaho me demonstrated the power of the human mind to create a physical reality of the depth of their emotional fears.
A call Boston prefigures the mystery to come. Half asleep, I woke up the phone in my apartment in Boston at 1 am Who could call at this hour? It was my good friend Gary in Boise, Idaho. He wanted me to come to the neck forests and hiking at 10,000 feet in the Rockies.
"You have to come. You'll do well. Air, infinite space, a perfect calm begged my friend.
"Sounds like fun, but why call me Now, after three years without contact? "Asked me incredulously.
"I had a dream last night. You and I were in a most excellent adventure in some alpine mountains and we had great spiritual awakenings both, "he said breathlessly. "I find this dream."
I was already planning to conduct right through Idaho on my way on the West Coast. At some level, Gary should have known that would ready and prepared for its proposal. The coincidence did not really surprise. In the old days, when Gary and I stayed in Boston with our nature and beloved spiritual mentor, Michio Kushi, we have always had a synchronous connection and harmony of natural desires. For years, we get the same success Intuitive while traveling to a specific place in the mountains or the sea, or explore a new topic or a particular method of meditation metaphysics.
In addition, Gary knew he was not a person to pass an adventure, especially spiritual. I had this feeling in my gut that I needed say "yes". So I did. I was intrigued. Most of his invitation was thrilling: will deliberate after vision! By itself in the creation of a dream and welcome to the bottom of this vision manifest. What an idea! I was "in"
A new perspective in life was just what I needed at that time. The fact that the opportunity presented itself through a dream vision of Gary has done all that much more exciting prospect. I just lost my bid to be chosen as the official instructor for the Boston Technical Release, Human Potential program of my current spiritual mentor for many years, Lester Levenson. This professorship has been my main goal in life five years. The prices removed, I felt lost and empty. I needed to fill again with a new purpose and joy. The natural beauty and distance tranquility of the mountains sawtooth northern Idaho provided a better environment to start my quest for the care of my journey from Earth come.
At the end of our trip the first day of the wilderness, Gary and I discovered an invitation from natural hot springs. We floated under the stars in the Milky Way for several hours. If you've already soaked in a hot bath or hot springs, you know not only your body to relax, but also their spirit, heart and emotions. In this open state, people often experience a greater awareness and a direct connection with their inner coach. Often, this opening also causes unconscious feelings that arise. In this state of extreme relaxation, some people rhythmic breathing spontaneously enter innate releasing repressed emotions.
In the soothing waters, whirlpool hot Alpine, Gary instinctively went to this natural process of liberation. During the night, Gary finds the courage many memories of childhood and adolescent trauma. buried fears resurfaced from her past. He spent hours in front of embrace and dissolve deep anxiety that has been around for a very young. It was an exciting evening of intense feeling, let go and clean the hot springs. We crawled into our little tent for two men after feeling the evening light, open and vulnerable. After compressing so secure and store sealed at both ends, finally asleep.
Towards the middle of the night, suddenly fierce and cons Gary crying to me from my dream alone.
"I! He made me! "He shouted.
Trying to calm him, I came over, gently massage his shoulders and said with a good voice: "You are dreaming. Copyright. You're all right now. "
Remained motionless and trembling violently, Gary said: "This animal! Your teeth! He! "
I continued to whisper words of comfort and smooth shifting. Gary gradually awakened from his nightmare. I asked if I could remember what had scared him.
"A wild animal grabbed my wrist and was gnawing at him. I'm afraid I could not fight against the iron fist without the hand of the beast."
Gary was shaking uncontrollably. There was clearly a nightmare was still in control. I kept trying to calm him, saying that it was just a bad dream. Then I felt something wet in his hand. I'm back with the other hand, took a flashlight and light shone on the wrist of Gary. He was bleeding profusely! It had sharp teeth marks in the back of the hand. His flesh was torn away, exposing bone wrist small.
I quickly asked antiseptic ointment on my backpack and his hand wrapped in a pillowcase.
"There must a creature here in the shop with us, "said Gary in a tense, frightened whisper." They were probably afraid when he joined. Should be afraid when he realized there were two of us are. "
I agree. We frantically began control of our rack refuge for some types of small wildlife. We searched every inch of the pup. The two sleeping bags backwards. Our rucksacks emptied thoroughly. No animals were found. Then we searched for tears or openings in the tent that the creature could have crossed. There was no opening.
Gary and I talked. We tried our world for a possible explanation. We could not find a plausible scenario, as much as he wants. But the conversation has dispelled some of our fears.
During our review, I light the torch in the face of Gary and his mouth to see if there's blood or other signs that could have bitten his own hand. None. I've even seen my face and teeth, looking desperately bites his source. Nothing.
Exhausted by traumatic attack on her person and frustrated by the mystery of their origin, Gary finally found refuge from his ordeal in the dream. However, the rest I missed it. I lay awake contemplating the mystery of the wrist to chew my friend Gary was in the agony of a dream terrible. In the nightmare, an animal caught by the wrist and chewed. It took me a long time to awaken from its horror. It was very real for him. But there were no animals in the store. If a child had been at the shelter, could not escape without leaving a flight or a kind Opening.
He remembered how, just before we retire, we spent a few hours in the hot springs to relax. Gary confront and resolve many fears in the therapeutic waters. Knew that the mind is powerful. "I knew that fear is a powerful force. He also knew the dreams were symbolic.
Perhaps, I thought, rooted anxieties Gary came to a consciously recognized or not released. In my healing practice, I witnessed many cases of unresolved emotions materialize in physical form. Ulcers are a first result and the sample retained. Hives and rashes are others. So theorized, when we fear and do not deal with it in some way to release energy of feeling, fear can manifest itself in physical form.
Gary has been presented as a man, the frenetic activity, type Wild Western man. He liked to be seen as a modern version of John Wayne, strong and stoic as a rock. He was finally removed and stripped of their emotional life. He tried to hide it, I realized the previous conversations that he was very worried, perhaps even frightened that his life was falling apart. Recently, his wife threatened to leave, taking with her three children he adored. And his business was failing. In the hot spring, Gary published some of his bottled up tension. But it is obvious that released a little steam on top of the cooker, that the tip of the iceberg melting of panic inside.
The more I thought about the situation, and I was more excited intrigued. I do not know exactly what was pending fear "eats" in Gary, but I could not wait for tomorrow to discuss it with him. I a glimpse of the soaring spirit of Gary and his power to manifest the power of your fear. I saw how the mind can use emotions to create physical experiments in the physical realm. Once isolated Gary fully feel their concerns and feelings, he could not resolve the nightmare. Injuries lose their mystique. The power would be exhausted in the matter.
Located in the quiet of the night, under the personal importation of theater night. I promised that from that day, I would like to make a conscious effort to recognize and acknowledge the fears of my life. I was ready to feel the energy created by each arrest. I would find a way to integrate and dissipate the energy and power of my feelings. I'm looking for methods internally to manage my anxiety so they do not act out my physical universe.
In fact, Gary and I found his vision dream and opened a most excellent spiritual progress. I went to sleep, grateful for the life lesson that I learned, and wait for my friend enlightening at dawn.
