Removing rust from silverware?
I have a fork, knife, and spoon set that I take on my camping trips regularly. It seems that putting them away without wiping them off has come back and smacked me in the face, because now I have rust on all three utensils. It’s not very bad, but who wants to eat from rusty silverware? I need a solution that’s fairly natural, nothing that could possibly leave a residue or anything of that nature that could make me ill. I only have six days before my next trip, so I really need them cleaned.
Please help!
yes I might add it isn’t silver. everyone calls it silverware, even if it is stainless steel. nonetheless…IT’S RUSTED. thank you.
soak in vinegar water for about 30 min then polish with boat polish that is sold at a boat supply store. buff then remove with dry towel then wipe on vinegar and dry. trust me they will shine.
