Camping in the UK
If you are searching for a UK Campsite, you have more than a thousand to choose from. If a stop in Scotland is on your schedule, you can camp almost anywhere in the highlands, without paying a fee or worrying about the trespassing laws. As long as you follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, you are free to pitch your tent and enjoy.
Local tourism boards provide free campsite guides to make it easier to plan your trip. Some of the highlights include Abbey Wood, which is only 35 minutes by train to the city of London. If you own a caravan or mobile home, you might like Crystal Palace Caravan Club, which is on the bus route to Oxford Circus.
If you’re looking for a UK Campsite in Cornwall, there are a number to choose from, including Trevornick Holiday Park and Dennis Cove. Both have lovely views and a variety of nearby attractions.
As an alternative to tent camping, you could rent a tipi or wigwam in Scotland. Loch Lomond offers heated wigwams. You will find a tipi for rent in a wooded clearing near the Rock resort. There are also caravans for rent throughout the United Kingdom.
You might consider a UKCampsite in Dartmoor National Park, one of the places in England where “wild” camping is allowed. A popular destination for hikers and climbers, the park covers 954 square kilometers and has been called the top natural wonder in South West England.
If you want a beautiful view of the coast, you might consider a UK Campsite at Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in West Wales. There are two other National Parks in Wales to choose from as well. Those are Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia. Both parks are open to caravans and tent campers.
US tourists will find Snowdonia particularly unique, in that the park consists of publicly held and privately owned lands. So, you might find a UK Campsite in Snowdonia on a farm and if you need a break from camping, you can stay in a private hostel or guesthouse.
Your favourite UKCampsite might turn out to be one of the 500 spots available at the New Forest Roundhill Campsite. The park offers horseback riding, trails for biking and is home to the Beaulieu River for canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts.
It may be hard to pick your favourite UK Campsite, once you have found a few of them. If you’re having trouble deciding on one, you could always try them all – in alphabetical order!
