Camping: cleaning Platypus water bag?
What is the easiest method for cleaning the bladder of a hydration pack water? We mark platypus – the old model, without the zipper. I read a rinse with a weak solution of bleach, then stored in the freezer. No drying in a week and I know they need cleaning. Thank you for the help!
If you got a shit in about 2 cups hot water in it, add a tablespoon or two of soap, close it with a little air in it and shake vigorously. Rinse repeat if necessary. If there is no mess, just fill half way with water, add 3 or 4 drops of Clorox, squeeze the excess air and seal tightly. Tighten the valve and press the bite solution bag lots. Let stand for one hour and rinse well. I have one that I have Five or six years, that's what the instructions say it's the way I do.
