Does waterproofing spray actually work on tents?
I was wondering if it is worth purchasing waterproofing spray for my tent, in case it were to rain while I was camping. Does anybody know if it really works?
Yes, it does work, but make sure to read the label to ensure the spray doesn’t negate the effects of the tent’s flame retarding and that it won’t generate any unhealthy gasses or unpleasant odor after drying.
I suggest sealing your seams first so the sealant can soak in properly before spraying with waterproofing. Otherwise, the seam sealer will not penetrate and will peal off easily.
