How Your New or Used Season Cast Iron Cookware
Cast iron has a porous surface. The drying process used to fill and smooth the surface of the pan. It is true that the more you use and season cast iron, but does not stick the surface becomes. Here is how you season a pan cast iron new or used:
1. If the container is new, make sure the adhesive label is completely removed.
2. Wash, rinse and dry the pan.
3. Grease the inside surface with Crisco or lard solid. A middle layer of light, as you would a cake pan with fat, is sufficient.
4. Heat oven to 350
