What are some good service projects?
In a little over a month, a large group of teens (Fellowship of Christian Athletes from multiple high schools) is going to get together and raise money through World Vision by doing the 30 Hour Famine. However, we would also like to complete a community service project during the famine. The time we have scheduled for such an event is from 8 am until 1 pm. What are some good ideas for ways that we can also serve the community? We have already thought of doing a mini sports camp/community fair, making care packages (although we don’t have specifics for this one) and simply helping out by cleaning the surrounding area.

I think you should have a food drive and donate the food to the local food pantry (they are part of the World too). You could advertise it as a pasta drive and call it “Oodles of Noodles”. You could ask every family to donate some kind of pasta. A block of Ramen noodles is about a dime so it would be an inexpensive donation for the poorest of families. Wealthier families could give more…hope this helps.
