I bought a table at a flea market, how can I know if it is original and what is worth?
I bought a table at a flea market, it seems ink original document, signed "David Tzur, 1966 Israel" (the "U" is established in a "V"). Although involved in a pleasant setting, the paper on which they are located seems to have been folded or rolled, and a small stain on the right side. I paid $ 15 for it. How can I know if the original? How can I know what it's worth? How do I find more information about the artist? A Google search reveals that it is a concentration camp survivor who emigrated to Israel, then a professor of art, but not much more is available on the Internet.
You can take it to an expert in art or a distributor. Look for one in the yellow pages, or visit a local museum. Be sure to tell the appraiser that you are not interested in selling (even if you are). If you think you can sell to them, they will tell you is worth less than what it is. Do not settle for the first notice that receives. Ask around, get as much as you can. Then you have to do their best to sift through the garbage and find the truth. At least should be able to say how old he is, that can give you an idea of whether it is original. Good luck!
