When in Seattle, I can find a job as a scientist of the environment?
Hello! I graduate school is more, my contract is up soon, and my schedule is open. I'm considering moving to Seattle in July with my girlfriend (your company has other offices there, so she can transfer) and am looking working as a research biologist, environmental consultant, environmental advocate or a mixture of them. I'm open to anything. I just finished my Masters in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Johns Hopkins University and holds a degree in wildlife Bilogy Ohio University. I worked in Alaska, Arizona and Florida, while at school (summer) and I am a big backpacker / truck / camper. I have been at least one night in every state except Hawaii. For the sake of my sanity, I knew I had to live in I love the West and Pacific Northwest …… Anyway, I searched for a job through all standard ads and websites and was wondering if anyone knew of "green" companies that make environmental conservation or policy work in the Seattle area or Bellingham? Thanks!
EPA Region 10 should be your main target and that they are hiring at this time. Also, try Earthcorps. UW-Bothell UW-Tacoma and just job fairs in early April. Seattle University as well. Try their websites to see if companies are still in the list. If not, contact your school Career Development Office for contact information. Also try to Department of Ecology Washington State.
