South Dakota Attractions – what should we not miss?

We are heading to South Dakota this summer and plan to see the attractions in the area. We are camping at Custer as it seems to be a good middle point. Here is what we plan to see – The Cosmos, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Bear County USA, the Reptile Gardens and spend a day in Deadwood (I hear there is an afternoon “shoot out”). Any other not to be missed sights?? We don’t gamble so no casinos please. We will be there for 8 days. Thank you all!!
We don’t have children, it is just my husband and me.

The places you picked are great. Be sure to go to Mt. Rushmore at night as well as in the day…they have a great program at night. Also Custer State Park is wonderful…herds of bison and lots of other wildlife. Wind Cave and Jewell cave are also worth it. Ohhh, the Mammoth dig is a great place to visit. It is near Hot Springs, an hour from Mt Rushmore. In the town of Hot So rings…there is Evans Plunge…if you are kids at heart and love to play in the water, you would love it.
