Can you clean a hunting knife in the dishwasher?
I have a hunting knife Gerber Firm recently used to cut a deer. The guy who has worked with the same knife and suggested that simply put it in the dishwasher and you're clean. Is this bad to do to a hunting knife? Thanks for your suggestions.
Do not. A little story here. I had a very nice vintage scoop the 1900s. He had a vulcanized rubber handle on it. My family is used for decades, since my grandfather's wine shop, where he used to collect and sell ice cream floats and other things. Well, as my father grew older, I hired a doctor or nurse to stay with him. It was cheaper than a nursing home and wanted to keep him in his old home. Indeed, the caregiver decides to wash everything in dishwasher. Rubber handle of the spoon antique ice cream could not handle the water at high temperature dishwasher and … well, it failed. So much for memories family. We had that thing a hundred years and seem fair .. well until someone decided to take a shortcut and use the dishwasher.
