430W PSU Enough?
I have a 400GB HD, x1 combo drive, two 120mm fans, with LED’s, 9600gt, and 4gb 667mhz ram.
My processor uses 89w, and im getting a quad core, 125w.
I think my PSU is under stress already, (antec truepower trio 430w), and want to know if it will hold up for a few months or weeks until I get a new one, 600w+…
I would get a 95w processor, but lots of people have had BSOD reviews, and i dont want that happenenig.
I doubt your PS is having problems. Your hard drive is prob SATA which is so low power its hot swappable. The fans aren’t drawing crap. Your vid card is prob using neg power and so is your chip. Forget your memory.
Antec makes decent power supplies. It’s not the wattage its the quality. Just because it’s a 600watt PS doesn’t mean it puts out 600.
You may actually have problems with the voltage at the wall. I run a separate circuit that my computer uses. If someone turns on a light in the other room I’m not affected. Do you even know what else is connected to your electrical circuit your really plugged in to?
Before you run out and buy a new PS you might want to consider getting a line conditioner first to make sure the voltage is clean and always available. Running a separate circuit is prob not practicle on a small budget.
