20 gallons of fresh water, you want to convert salt water?
I have a 20 gallon tank with no fish in it. This is a spare tank in my apartment. I make salt water. What other equipment will I have to do this? Furthermore, I get to the fish that look like Nemo, like two of them, and a Plecostomus salt water. Can anyone point me in the right direction for water quality and compatible Plecos, plants, corals etc elaborite not need it, only a small simple salt water tank. Any website that would be useful for me? I have 4 tanks of fresh water, and I'm ready to go to salt water. Thank you.
A tank of 20 gallons is on the small side with salt water, but can be done. The "Nemo" fish you are referring to is known as a Percula clown fish and are very strong and easy care. I have one that I've had for over 10 years and still going strong in a 29 gallon tank. You will only be able to keep one in your tank, as they are very territorial and will fight constantly with other clownfish. You can, however, have another lady (embezzlement are part of the damsel family, by the way) and most of them are small, inexpensive and very sturdy. Probably only be able to keep 5-7 small fish in 20 gallon tank, but should be plenty to make an interesting display.
