How to Hook Up a Propane Tank to a Camping Grill
Hooking up a propane tank to a camping grill would simply take seven steps to follow.
Propane is one of the most useful, economical and convenient form of fuel. It is used for many various purposes such as fuels for torches, engines, residential heating systems or portable stoves like camping grills. In installing your propane tank to your camping grill, follow these steps to ensure safety:
Step 1: Place your grill and propane tank on a clear and flat-leveled ground. This is to ensure that either your tank or grill is in stable position and that you won’t have to worry about them tipping over.
Step 2: Most propane tanks have an allocated spot just for it on the camping grill. The camping grill may come in with a rack or a notch on the grill that will nicely fit the propane tank in place. Just carefully put the tank on that space. If the camping grill doesn’t have a place for your tank, then just put your tank beside the grill.
Step 3: Make sure that the propane tank is close before trying to connect it into the grill. To do this, you just simply turn the valve located at the top of the tank clockwise.
Step 4: Locate the tank’s connection fitting and hose. They are usually found hanging under or beside the camping grill unit.
Step 5: Pick the connection fitting of the grill and put it on the propane tank’s threaded fitting. The threaded fitting is just located below the tank’s top valve. To secure the connection of both the fittings, turn the connection fitting counterclockwise.
Step 6: Now that the grill and tank is connected, check for some leaks. Just put some soapy water around the fittings then turn the valve of the tank counterclockwise to open it. If no bubbles appear, it has been connected properly. But if bubbles are evident, this signifies that there are some leaks on the connection. You will have to close the tank first, then disconnect all the fittings and try fastening them again. Check again for any leaks. You need to try these procedures over and over again until you are sure that no leaks can be found.
Step 7: When you have done the procedures above correctly, you can now use your camping grill.
