Do I have post-concussion syndrome?
I was in a car accident 8 weeks ago when I got hit from behind. For the last 6 weeks, I experience random and frequent headaches (4-5 times a week). The light hurts my eyes more than usual, and I feel as bright lights bite. When the doctor asked me to follow a small flashlight with my eyes, I could barely do it, then I start looking at places where the light was not, because everything seemed to so blurred. Sometimes I feel like I'm listening to a lot of time beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep in my ear. (When I looked up the symptoms, closes called "buzz in the ears ", which I guess is the same?) Never fainted during the car accident. My doctor thinks it may have still had a concussion, and he just told me to take Tylenol. The symptoms do not go, and I am a teen, that should heal quickly. Do I have post-concussion syndrome? How I can make it stop? (I am planning to return to the doctor.) Oh, and I had whiplash.
The symptoms you describe sound very much like a syndrome concussion. I think it best to see a neurologist for diagnosis and possible treatment. These things can be very difficult and sometimes some symptoms not disappear depending on how bad things hurt. A specialist would be the best source of realistic answers.
