Can you identify this beetle?
For a while now we have had tiny beetles in our house – maybe you can help us identify which kind they are – have a look at the following picture

They are very small ,only about 2mm long but are very fast. They make a ticking sound which is heard better at night which sounds like a clockwork watch. They are far more common in the summer but I see them very rarely in the winter.
I thought that it could be the deathwatch beetle because of the ticking sound or the common furniture beetle but I am not sure – maybe you are better at identifying beetles and know which one it is.
I was considering getting an ultrasonic repeller as it says it deters beetles but I would like to know which kind of beetle it is first.
I am in Scotland.
It looks like a booklouse.
Apparently they thrive in damp conditions, like bathrooms.
