Is car racing sensible now that gas price is rising up to the sky?
Isn’t it time to stop this kind of sport? I think it’s a waste of money, time and sometimes limbs and lives. This is my personal opinion. No offense meant. What do you think?
Stopping car racing because of soaring oil prices is like stopping boxing and any other sport because of the soaring food prices. If you think about how many liters of Gatorade are consumed for each basketball game, and considering how much energy is consumed by making and shipping Gatorade, then maybe we must stop basketball too.
Racing is an endeavor that features human ingenuity. In fact, racing creates the space for innovation: airbags, seatbelts, and efficient suspensions and engines were first made FOR car racing. So expect your next fuel-efficient (or alternative fuel-using) car to be a derivative of a race car.
