What is most efficient space heater for all electric home?
One of our kids lives in basement and uses an outdated space heater. We have an all electric home and our electric bill was $500.00 this month. Our home and finished basement is 1200 sq. ft. Last months bill was $450.00. We;ve been trying to cut down on everything but I believe the heater in cold basement is culprit. We live near Chgo.
You might take a two-pronged approach: Have an insulation person (or 2 or 3) give you an estimate , and get an oil-filled radiator heater for the basement. They are great space heaters. We saved money last winter by using them.
