My mate is going through the Academy, but now she has to decide on a flashlight. Can you recommend the best?
The options have been reduced to any a Streamlight LED Flashlight Streamlight SL-20X or SL-20XP LED flashlight. Is there anyone here that a model is better than the other, and why? Also, does anyone have a different recommendation and if so, why? Thanks everyone! An important detail to mention is that she has a small waist, and since it could have beaten the authors in the head with something, probably will not have room for both a flashlight and a cane. Please take this into account in making the recommendation.
XP for the win. Whatever you choose, stay with Stinger. I have fallen into water, and passed it again with the Crusier (more than once …) and still working as well as the day I got years ago 6. I'm not a fan of LEDs. They are very bright, but not very powerful. With my Stinger XP I can shine that light, one block and see everything like daylight, try doing that with a LED light and see why it is not my first choice. I have an LED back security, but mainly because it is small and fits in your pocket. I have a waist of 27 inches. I took a double mag pouch with comfort, a stinger XP, radio, ASP 21 inch bag gloves, mace, a taser and two sets of cuffs, and of course my gun. Get the sleeve of the curtain holders to free up some space, only make sure you have the ones you pull up the launch, that way nobody can pull you. I do not recommend carrying a mag-lite or having the support for one. When pull the flashlight out, you leave a perfect ring to grab and swing Ahold around with.
