It is a question that triggers my thoughts of the past.Please take a little time to read through.
Long ago, I had always thought that I was in a constant race with the others . In career . In happiness . In survival. I imagined myself running in an elliptical running track. There were a pack of people running before and many behindme. I kept running the race with all my heart, wanting to win. To survive. .
When I turned into the final , straight stretch ( you call that home run?) where I can see the finish tape, I found many many way ahead of me. Way ahead. It was then I knew that I would not finish at the top. Psychologically I slowed down myself and menatlly I gave up the race, in life. That was bad feeling .
I sat down and thought if there was a way I could win the race . It hit me one day!
What IF I ran the race all by MYSELF? I will run as fast as I can and I am sure I will win. Always. I compete with myself . That gave me an exhilarating feeling.I found the answer to my survival . I found that the key to survival is to compete with myself and not with the others , constantly giving me the feeling of being a loser. Now I excel in everything I do giving me a good feeling. I will certainly survive as long as I wish to survive.
