What is the best kind of sleeping pad?
I love camping… tents, adirondacks, open…whatever…spring/summer/FALL/winter…what is the best kind of pad? one that is light weight backpacking pad and is also a very goood insulator.and obviously comfortable…i currently have a large thermarest trail light self infalting air pad with faom…it rolls up small…easy…durable…lightweight…but i keep getting warnings that it will be cold…will it?
I have used the original thermarest mattress in temperatures as low as -20 F with no problem put the stuff that you are going to wear the next day between the pad and the sleeping bag to add a little more insulation and keep the clothes warmer I also use a sleeping bag from a defunct maker that is rated to -40 F (Snowlion) Another tip go to the hardware store and buy a spray called “Super Grip” and spray both sides of the sleeping pad with it as per the cans directions it will stop the pad from slipping on the tent floor and the bag from slipping on it too. Enjoy.
