Somebody help! I need a new tent and I can’t decide!?
I am going insane with this one!
I am a solo backpacker and have been in a hennesey hammock for quite awhile now and it’s time to move on!
I want something that I have the ability to store my gear inside the tent with me or that has a vestibule or both!
I’m looking for a large 1 person(just in case there is 2) or a small 2 person. I would like to stay under the 4 pound mark but can float off that a bit!
I am definitely more of a tent person than a tarp person, but I’d be lying if the idea of having a tent where I can just use a foot print and the fly isn’t starting to sound appealing!
I don’t carry trek poles and don’t really plan on it so I’d like a tent that doesn’t require them to be set up!
Double wall, single wall, freestanding?? What does everyone use and why do they use what they use!? Haha!
I have an old Army bivouac bag, really just a 7 ft triangle about 3 ft at the top, with a folding steel “U” frame that just holds the head part open. It almost fits into a side pocket of my pack, and can be tied fore and aft to give a bit more room. In the woods, your footprint would be minimal. Two could squeeze in, but they had better like each other a lot!
